The DuPage Environmental Summit is free and open to the public. Any interested person is encouraged to attend.   The 2018 theme is “Nature RX: How Spending Time in Nature is Good for the Mind, Body, and Soul”. . The exhibits area will open at 7:30 a.m. and will feature organizations focusing on the benefits of nature to human health. 

The keynote speaker is Teresa H. Horton, Ph.D. from the Laboratory for Human Biology Research at Northwestern University.  Dr. Horton is an environmental physiologist specializing in research on how exposure to natural landscapes has restorative effects on human health and well-being.  She also coordinates the Nature, Culture and Human Health (NCH2) Working Group.  In addition, there will be presentations on additional research, nature and mindfulness, “forest bathing,” a local case study and panel discussion on existing local programs.
