The Military Vehicle Preservation Association conducts annual historic military vehicle convoys across the United States and Canada. Every year a historic route is chosen with significance to the military or automobile history. 2019 is the 100th anniversary of the Motor Transport Corps’ Trans-continental Convoy; the first successful attempt by the US Army to travel coast to coast using only motor vehicles in 1919. This was historically significant for a few reasons, chief among which is was the first time the military had attempted to do so and the convoy was led by a then Major Dwight D. Eisenhower. - read more about route
