What can we learn from bird flocks and fish schools to mitigate crowd disasters? How can we program robots to work together so one person controls an entire swarm of them? Researchers are studying the collective behaviors of fish, birds and swarming insects to answer questions like these. You may never think of a flock of birds in quite the same way again!
