Walk on the Wild Side

Plants bring people together. Plants can inspire us — and teach us things too. We’re hoping that you’ll join us at Cantigny on a Horticulture Staff tour that will meet the third Thursday of each month from April through October. We’ll be looking at trees and shrubs. At perennials and annuals. At natives and tropicals. Even aquatic plants. Each staff member will pick their favorite plant of the month, each month. We’ll give a bit of science (botanical names and culture) but we’ll also be telling some stories and some fun facts. Each staff member will give a two-minute explanation of why that plant is their favorite and then we’ll move on to the next plant. The route will be a bit different each month. Occasionally we may even venture behind the construction fences!
