Zoom Event. Dressed in Jingle Dress regalia, Kim Sigafus, of the Illinois Humanities Roads Scholar speaker bureau, will share her American Indian heritage and musical culture.

This is the 100th anniversary of the Jingle Dress, and Kim will talk about the story surrounding the birth of the dress and its importance to the Native people. She will discuss Native ceremonies and why music is a key component to them. The audience will be invited to learn traditional songs in the Native language.

This event will be held online using Zoom. To participate, all you need is a device (desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone) with a camera, microphone and an internet connection. Or, if you don't have a device, you can call into the event with your phone.
