Banned Books, Intellectual Freedom, Libraries, and You

This program is part of the Civit Awareness Series, offered in person and online. Registration is not required for those attending in person at the Cantigny Park Visitors Center. Online participants should register below to receive a Zoom link.

Cantigny Park, in partnership with The League of Women Voters, welcomes Joyce McIntosh for a presentation on the issue of banned books. She will discuss the current state of challenges throughout the U.S.; how the First Amendment is related to our public and school libraries; and ways that people can advocate on behalf of intellectual freedom in their communities.

Illinois teachers can earn 1 PD credits for watching the presentation and filling out a short PD activity.
