Solar Eclipse Viewing Community Picnic

From 08/21/17 11:45 am until 08/21/17 3:00 pm
Categories: Outdoors

Join your neighbors to view the partial eclipse of the sun on the Bob Walters Commons (between the Library and City Hall) ! Bring a lunch and lawn chairs or blankets; alcohol is not permitted. The library will have eclipse glasses available while supplies last. The Chicago area is expected to see approximately 85% of the sun eclipsed. It is the first time since 1979 that a solar eclipse has crossed the lower 48 states of the U.S. In our area the eclipse will begin at 11:54 am, peak at 1:19 pm and end at 2:42 pm. In the Library, we will feature NASA’s livestream of the total eclipse. To learn more about the eclipse, visit https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov
